Real Metal Detector Smart Hunter: A Helpful Guide for Building Your Own Metal Detector

What You Will Need:

• An Arduino
• A MOSFET irf740 (any available MOSFET will work)
• A 1mF and a 0.47mF capacitor
• A wire (0.54 - 0.7 mm) for the coils. We need to make two coils, both with 80 turns and a diameter of 160 mm each (for improved sensitivity, a larger diameter is recommended)
• A switch
• A handset with a 4-pin mini jack
• A 10k resistance

How It Works:

Real Metal Detector Smart Hunter is capable of detecting small objects, such as a gold ring, at a distance of 20-25 cm. Objects with a diameter of 16 cm can be detected at a distance of 50 cm, while larger objects with a diameter of 25 cm can be detected at a distance of 100-150 cm. When the metal detector detects any metallic object, your smartphone will vibrate!

This metal detector is both easy to build and powerful.

For building the coils, we recommend using wire with a diameter of 0.4 to 0.7 mm. Ensure that the coils are identical.
